Harking back to early autumn, look at this little fellow we spotted fast asleep in our back garden one morning in late September.
We replaced the bathroom window (downstairs, at the back of the house) with a clear glass one last year, as weβre not overlooked, so Pete spotted our visitor first thing and quickly gave me a (quiet) shout. We watched him sleeping for a while, his entire body rising and falling as he breathed. Just when Pete decided to go and grab his camera (I had picked mine up already) he woke up, looked around for a few moments and then bounded away, exiting the garden via some exciting leaps onto compost bin, greenhouse roof and garden fence.
Do you regularly spot wildlife in your garden?

brilliant pics, competition!
Ha, go for gold!
But what does the fox say? π
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. Then, Bye for now!
He looks gorgeous! What a real treat – where we used to live there was a badger that used to snuffle around the grounds early in the morning – up close it was quite a lot bigger than we thought they were. So glad you caught the fox on camera!
I’ve never seen a badger round our way but we’re very urban here, not near any woodlands or anything…
A deer caught in the headlights comes to mind π
Don’t suppose he’ll be back in a hurry. There is a resident fox in our neighbourhood who would go through all the rubbish sacks along the street. Not exactly the sweepers’ favourite.
We see foxes now and again but never in our garden before!
We spot wildlife, but not a fox! How beautiful is he! (We spotted a RAT yesterday, I wasn’t nearly as excited as you were about your sighting!). Have a glorious 2014, darling friend! xx
We spotted a mouse a few years ago, when dismantling a rock pile of rubble the previous owners had sort of made into a hideous rockery. It was living in there I guess. Cute critter but I was mostly pissed off wondering whether he’d eaten my sweetcorn earlier in the year.
