“Nothing but breathing the air of Africa, and actually walking through it, can communicate the indescribable sensations.” ~ William Burchell
I’ve written before about how much we love safari – the luxury of observing wildlife in its natural habitat. Nowhere is better for that than the continent that was the cradle of life for humanity, and our holidays in Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa and Tanzania, have been some of our all-time favourites.
It’s not that the wildlife trips we’ve enjoyed elsewhere, such as India, the Galapagos Islands, and even Antarctica haven’t been incredible – they absolutely and most definitely have!
It’s just that there’s something truly special about breathing the air beneath the vast open skies of an African wilderness, walking through the savannah or bush-land as you take in the beauty of the flora and fauna around you.

There is something pure about the wildlife in their own home. It is so calming and enthralling at the same time. I have also, enjoyed my expeditions here. I hope to get to Africa soon to discover the high grasslands there.
