Demarquette Does It Again: Caramel Filled Chocolate Easter Eggs (+ Competition)

I love Demarquette chocolates!

Run by talented (not to mention warm and cuddly) chocolatier Marc Demarquette and lovely partner Kim Sauer, this award-winning London chocolate company produces utterly delicious and beautiful hand-made chocolates. Not only do the chocolates taste fantastic and look stunning, they are made with carefully chosen high-quality ingredients, many of which are sourced from British producers. Even the chocolate is not off-the-shelf couverture but roasted, conched and blended to Demarquette recipes. A keen and critical eye is focused on ethical considerations too.

This year, chocoholics craving the very best quality Easter treats can enjoy Marc’s new Caramel Filled Easter Eggs. The size of quails’ eggs, these come in three flavours – dark chocolate with sea salted caramel, milk chocolate with key lime caramel and milk chocolate with banoffee caramel. The eggs are blue, green and yellow and feature a simple hand-painted design – each one is unique!

The salted caramels are a familiar Demarquette favourite, and just as good in egg form as the glossy domes I’m more familiar with. Both the key lime and banoffee caramel eggs are sweeter, because of the milk chocolate, with their core flavour coming through loud and clear; I like both but the banoffee is definitely my favourite!

Available by mail order, this box of 12 eggs is £19.95 plus delivery.

Anything with caramel has me in there….but a new caramel flavour is hard to pin down. I would go a carmel praline filling – get a bit of crunch in there! @Aussie_Foodie

  2. Catreia

Ooh, what to suggest to add to that wonderful trio? I like nuts and crunch too, but I’d go for something like roasted macadamia and black pepper… A little heat from the pepper but not as obvious as chilli and then it would be the balance to the salted caramel perhaps? @Catreia

Love caramel with sea salted caramel being my absolute favourite. No idea what it would be like, but chilli and ginger is one of my current favourite combinations and might work well in a caramel. I met Marc a few years ago at a chocolate demo in Cornwall. He was lovely as were his chocolates. It was the first and last time I tried his chocolate though, so would love to have another opportunity.

  4. Suelle

Ginger caramel was my first choice, but many others have mentioned that, so I will go with an alternative – maple syrup and pecan.

Anything caramel is always a winner but I think a little hint of lavender would help to cut through the sugar!!

I love caramel and nuts can only make it better! I’d go for caramalised cashews for that extra crunch – yes I admit to having a very sweet tooth!

Fizzy candy caramel, even if I don’t win you know you want to try it if you haven’t.

Salted caramel would of course be amazing. There’s not much else you could do to improve it!

I would add shards of delicous cool Kendal Mint Cake to the delectable creamy caramel. A marriage of contrasts made in Heaven.

For me it would be banana caramel, mouth watering just thinking of it, Blue bird used to do a banana toffee years ago when I was a nipper – yum!

Cashew or macadamia nut butter swirled with the caramel. 🙂

These sound gorgeous – I was thinking the sea salted one but how about a chilli caramel with dark chocolate but also with a hint of lime (reminds me of the lime chill dip chutney you get with a curry – YUM)
