Food & Travel Magazine Competition (Closed)

I’ve admitted before (ssssh! I better whisper) that I love travel, possibly even more than great food. But, that’s not to dismiss how much I love eating tasty things… I enjoy it. A lot!

Luckily, the two combine very well indeed, as the producers of Food & Travel will agree.

I’ve been subscribing to the magazine for several years, and love their balance between my two most loved hobbies. They hit the third one too, as the food and travel photography featured in the magazine is always fabulous.

They offer richly described, informative and beautifully illustrated travel pieces with a food slant, the low down on food trends, restaurant reviews, lots and lots of recipes and the latest travel news and they cover both the UK and international destinations.

I’d love to travel to Mexico (whether that counts as gourmet I’m not sure) because I love the combination of chillis and tomatoes in food and I’m constantly reading about all these amazing food and drinks that I’d love to try.

  2. Jane Willis

I’d love to go to New York. I’ve already eaten some of the best meals of my life there and I’ve still not even begun to scratch the surface.

  3. Miss Whiplash

I generally don’t go anywhere terribly glamorous – I sort of feel like there are so many places in the UK that are awesome that I haven’t been yet (which also have amazing foods, in lots of cases), that it’s hard to justify the airmiles/carbon footprint.
However, I would really LOVE to go to Japan – there are so many amazing foods and things to see (not to mention Hello Kitties and crazy vending machines).
I am Well Jel of your impending trip!

  4. Corina

I’d love to go to Chiang Mai in Thailand and attend one of the cookery schools there as I love Thai food.

  5. @milliepaw

Top of my list has to be New York. I want to go there as not only does it have several restaurants I want to visit, it also offers loads of photo opportunities. I’d need a month though to explore just a fraction of what it offers.

  6. Elly

Thailand. I’m so intrigued by all the weird and wonderful flavours and ingredients, and I’m curious to see if my pathetic tastebuds could accustom themselves to spice…

  7. Snigdha

Highest on my wish list is Japan. Why? Sushi which is uber fresh! Tea ceremony presided over by Geisha! Real soup ramen! I’m drolling about the food, and daydreaming about the scenery in Kyoto…..!

  8. Camilla

Sicily has shot to the top of my list since reading Montalbano series. You have to respect an island that puts food above a murder investigation.

  9. Ashleigh

i would love to go o Italy as i love all italian food

  10. Stephanie Buckridan

India is on my list because I’d love to try the street food, it always looks so delicious

  11. Jen fish

I would love to go to Thailand to try some authentic Thai cuisine. If we are going out for a meal Thai food would always be my first choice.

  12. Gemma Turner

India. I have been 3 times now, and you can’t beat authentic Indian food cooked for you with ingredients freshly picked/caught! Just incredible, with the scents of spices in the streets! Just beautiful!

  13. Pebble Soup

Top food destination yet to discover has to be Canada, I imagine the array as food is as large as the country.

  14. Jo Young

I’m off to Hong Kong later in the year and can’t wait to try all the different types of food there!

  15. Maya Russell

I’d love to go to India for authentic curries.

  16. kathleen hooper

I’ve just discovered Thai food (yes, I know, rather late!) and I was knocked out by the subtlety of the flavours. I’d love to travel to Thailand to eat thai food both in decent restaurants, and to sample street food

  17. Chris Davies

I can’t wait to go to france and taste wonderful wins, bread and cheese!

  18. Joanna Orr

Morocco has to be the highest of my foodie wish list… I love the mix of sweet and savoury in a Moroccan tagine… and altho I do a mean lamb, aubergine and butternut squash tagine at home – , I’d love to sample some authentic Moroccan food!!

  19. Vivi

Istanbul because i love all the spices, meat and especially seafood they have on offer! I can’t wait to go hopefully sometime this year!

  20. Ireena

For me it would definitely be Japan- I don’t know much at all about Japanese food, and I think learning about it would be a perfect way of finding out more about the country and its culture too.

  21. lyndsey B

I have been fortunate to travel to many countries with awesome food, up there has been Japan, USA, Venezuela Italy and Mexico,. But next on the gastronomic wish list is China, I would love eating my way around the crazy stuff that they eat there like snake stews, steamed cow head and 100 year eggs!!

  22. shaheen

It has to be San Francisco – I’d like to check out all the gourmet vegetarian and vegan restaurants there, especially The Millennium Restaurant.

  23. Donna D

I’d go to Copenhagen – if I could ever get through the online booking I would completely plan a trip there whenever I could get a table at Noma, but there are so many other wonderful restaurants there, plus I am completely addicted to Danish drama ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. Dini

I’d like to revisit my homeland Sri Lanka, to renew my recipe collection and pick up some great cooking tips. It helps that it’s a beautiful island retreat too!

  25. Hannah Whitling

Thailand, i’ve only had very little Thai food, but i dont think the Thai food here is going to be even remotely the same flavours as the food in the country itself, so i would love to go there and taste the real foods.
