Just Eat Tried & Tasted 2015 + Competition (Closed)

There’s no denying that I love going out to eat. But I’m also very partial indeed to a really good takeaway – whether we dine at the table or slob out in front of the TV, having great food delivered from local restaurants is a wonderful indulgence. For the last couple of years, we’ve happily foregone the frantic search for a takeaway menu, not to mention the irritation of dishes and prices being out of date, by ordering online via JUST EAT. Being able to pay by card is a boon too.

Tried & Tasted 2012-2015 consistency logo

One of JUST EAT’s regular campaigns is their Tried & Tasted award scheme – customers across the country feed back on their favourite local takeaways via the website’s reviews and ratings scheme and JUST EAT give awards based on the ratings. In order to ensure both consistency and quality, JUST EAT stipulate that winning restaurants must have more than 100 online reviews with an average rating of 4.5 or above. This year, on top of awarding Tried & Tasted status to over 8000 restaurants, there is a new Consistency award that recognises the nation’s top 1000 from those establishments that have achieved Tried & Tasted for 4 years in a row.

The 2015 Tried & Tasted results are now out and I can’t wait to see which of my local favourites have been recognised by fellow customers.

My real favourite isn’t local to me at all but to my Mum, 250 miles away, and getting takeway from there is a teal treat when we visit her. It’s called The Chippy Bar in Golborne and despite the name does some of the best Chinese food I’ve had since I lived in Hong Kong.

The best local is near my partner’s in Ealing and is called the Oriental Tree. Not only a great Chinese with the best tasting food in the area, they also throw in an extra dish with each order, as well as the usual prawn crackers. Recently we received free vegetable noodles when we forgot to order rice. Really thoughtful of them!

I only started using Just Eat a few months ago; but my favourite is Mr. Cod in Maidenhead. We used to have fish and chips every Friday as children and I loved it. The Just Eat service is brilliant; as I am so tired when I finish work and do not always want to cook a meal, although my family expect it. It’s now become a monthly family treat with my husband, son and I, selecting our preferred choice of meal. There are also competitive rates with some take aways offering 20% off!!!

Mr. Cod in Maidenhead, is my favourite. When growing up we always had fish and chips on a Friday and I loved it as a child. It was fun queuing in the chip shop when I was young; but now I am so tired when finishing work and really cannot face the queues anymore; hence my use of the Just Eat service.
